Dispatcher / Scheduler

Handi-Lift is hiring a full-time Dispatcher/Scheduler to coordinate daily transportation services. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient routing, on-time performance, and excellent customer service.

This position has the opportunity to transition into a work-from-home (remote) role after training is completed.

Job Type

  • Full-time

  • 8-hour shifts

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday (or specify if different)

  • Shift times vary between 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers using RouteGenie software

  • Plan and adjust daily routes for efficiency and timeliness

  • Communicate with drivers throughout the day

  • Monitor trips and respond to delays or issues in real time

  • Provide customer support via phone and messaging

  • Maintain accurate scheduling and trip records

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic computer proficiency required

  • Experience with dispatching or routing software (RouteGenie preferred, not required)

  • Ability to work independently (especially in a remote setting)

Driver Minimum Requirements:

  • Seeking dependable individual to work full-time.

  • Valid Wisconsin State driver’s license. 

  • Ability to drive van over an 8-hour plus shift in a safe and professional manner. 

  • Must be comfortable working with diverse group of clients.  

  • Must have good customer service skills and the ability to interact with clients, facility staff and other employees.

  • Must have CPR certification or be willing to obtain.

  • Must pass drug test & background checks.

  • Must have Defensive Driving certification or be willing to obtain.

Duties:

  • Assisting with transferring patients from home to facility, facility to facility, or facility to home.

  • Following directions and the ability to read and use map software accurately.

  • Performing all related duties as assigned, including transporting patients in a safe and professional manner.

  • Communicating with dispatch to receive relevant data and instructions.

  • Professional behavior and attitude towards customers, visitors, and coworkers.

  • Completion of vehicle maintenance inspection prior to daily vehicle usage for safe and comfortable patient transport.

  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to always follow safety protocols.

We currently are currently hiring a Dispatcher/Scheduler and drivers throughout North West Wisconsin
